On Tuesday, the Prime Minister hosted the second UK Farm to Fork Summit, showing our continued commitment to the farming and food sectors. We are the first government to host a summit of this kind, which brings together farmers, food producers, supermarkets, investors and scientists.
I was pleased to see the Conservative Government’s new plans to support British farmers, helping to boost domestic food production and support food security across the UK.
New measures include the first-ever UK Food Security Index, a new plan for the fruit and vegetable sector, cutting red tape on British farming businesses, investing in farming resilience and ensuring supply chain fairness.
This will make a real difference to farmers across the Forest of Dean and help protect British farming for generations to come.
I am pictured here with Lord True, Leader of the House of Lords, sampling products from Cwmfarm Charcuterie Products which is located near Swansea.
