It was a pleasure to catch up with the Gloucestershire Federation of Young Farmers on Saturday in Flaxley. The sun was out for their annual county rally and the event was very well attended.
The young farmers’ federation provides an important social network for all those involved in the farming industry.
There were a host of activities on offer, from sheep shearing and woodwork to cookery and cake decorating. I am pictured here with Gloucestershire County Councillor, Philip Robinson, at one of the winning cube exhibits, that demonstrated a combination of skills.
During the event I took some time out to listen to some of the concerns farmers have and how the industry has been impacted by the pandemic.
