Several months ago I alerted my constituents to public engagement sessions on the future of Cannop Ponds.
The last of these sessions are due to take place at the Speech House Hotel on Thursday and there are still a few spaces remaining – you can reserve a ticket here:

For those unable to make the event on Thursday, there is a virtual engagement room which will be live until 11 April and which you can access here:
https://www.forestryengland.uk/.../the-future-cannop...
Both the in-person and virtual engagement sessions will provide the opportunity for residents to give feedback on the various options for the site.
A member of my team has been to one of the previous events, thoroughly engaged and fed back to me their findings. Whilst I was unable to attend in-person due to the events being held on days when I was required to be in London for parliamentary business, I have explored the virtual engagement portal and found this to be informative – I would recommend others do the same.
I know how important the ponds are to many of my constituents and indeed it is a location that I have enjoyed over the years myself, regularly walking my dogs there. Ever since uncertainty about the ponds emerged after an inspection of its dams last year, I have been clear that I can see no case for doing away with a popular beauty spot and that I am very much on the side of the ponds. I continue to hold that view and encourage anyone who is similarly interested in the future of Cannop Ponds to engage with the information sessions.
