Last week, I visited another of the Forest of Dean’s key tourism destinations, Go Ape at Mallards Pike.
I unleashed my inner Tarzan (the jungle sort rather than the Michael Heseltine sort) and had a go at their Treetop Challenge high ropes course, which was great fun!
I am grateful to the Site Manager, Pete Shackell, for showing me around the site and demonstrating how Go Ape was operating in a Covid-secure way.
It was great to hear that many visitors are coming to the Forest of Dean since the gradual easing of coronavirus restrictions has encouraged more people to consider ‘staycations’ closer to home. As someone who is spending their summer in the Forest of Dean – which I am proud to have called home for more than 20 years – I couldn’t agree more!
