The Forest of Dean has many great businesses and organisations based within its beautiful landscape, which I as its Member of Parliament am very fortunate to be able to visit. Today was a perfect example as I had the privilege of visiting the Asha Centre in Flaxley, Mitcheldean.
I am pictured with Asha’s founder, Mrs Zerbanoo Gifford, Chair of Trustees, Mr Richard Gifford, and Director, Mr Mark Gifford as well as one of our area’s Ukrainian guests. They gave me an excellent tour around the centre and shared the fascinating work they and their team are doing, providing transformational educational experiences for young adults from the Forest of Dean and around the world.
Prior to visiting the centre, Mr and Mrs Gifford showed me the renovations they are making to their accommodation on Church Farm, Abenhall, in association with the Asha Centre. The changes being made to the accommodation provide a modern touch while upholding the traditional elements of the buildings. Along with this, showcasing the breath-taking countryside of the Forest of Dean.
