It was a pleasure to meet with the Save Cannop Ponds team again.
Following the end of the public engagement sessions run by Forestry England, I met with the Save Cannop Ponds team and received an update on the group’s activities. As I understand it, the public engagement responses are being looked at and will form part of the development of a “preferred solution” later this year.
As I have said previously, I know how important the ponds are to many of my constituents and indeed it is a location that I have enjoyed over the years myself, regularly walking my dogs there.
I am very much on the side of the ponds and can see no case for doing away with a popular beauty spot.
I look forward to my next meeting with the Save Cannop Ponds group.
