I am very pleased that Forestry England has listened to my constituents’ views, expressed in their consultation on the future of Cannop Ponds.
The new plans, published yesterday, will protect what people value most about Cannop Ponds, make them more accessible so more people can enjoy them and protect them long into the future.
It was a great pleasure to work with the ‘Save Cannop Ponds’ group who deserve a lot of credit for this excellent result.
I was pleased to play my part in ensuring that officials in Forestry England were well aware of both my views and those of my constituents. I also took the opportunity to raise this issue with my colleagues in Government. I am very pleased we’ve got a great outcome.
Moving forward, I will work with Forestry England to ensure that the plans set out are delivered for the benefit of my constituents.
