It was great to attend the Forest of Dean Dog Rescue Fete on Saturday, held at Ellwood Football Club. This is a fantastic local charity which is supported entirely by volunteers and is financed by donations and fundraising activities like Saturday’s fete.
They work hard to ensure rescued dogs go to good homes - I got my two Labradors, Sophie & Chase, through Forest of Dean Dog Rescue so I am always keen to support them when I can.
I was accompanied by my colleague Cllr Philip Robinson - GCC Mitcheldean Division and a Cabinet Member, as we toured the stands and met some of the many dogs and owners attending.
Phil and I are pictured with Bess the Newfoundland and the Dean Radio team and I’m also with Gatsby, who is from hearing dogs for deaf people.
