This morning I attended a further meeting of the Forest of Dean’s Levelling Up Fund Project Board, held at the Growth Hub in Vantage Point Business Village, Mitcheldean.
As the project progresses, I want to keep you updated on the fantastic progress being made with the £20 million funding that central Government approved, after I made the Forest’s case to Ministers up to and including the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak.
The Five Acres site demolition is well under way. Recent time lapse camera footage can be viewed on the Forest of Dean District Council Facebook page here: https://fb.watch/bozzkSpLnN/
Planning is due to commence on the design of the Speedwell Building and a New Five Acres Community and Sports Leisure Group is being set up to enable local users to input into site design.
Hartpury College and University is ready to proceed on the creation of 30+ electric vehicle charging points and the Hartpury University Innovation, Careers and Enterprise Learning Centre. Construction is due to begin on both of these projects over the next few months, with the electric vehicle park due to be completed first.
The Cinderford Town Regeneration project is also progressing well. The Wesley Church on Belle Vue Road is now owned by Cinderford Town Council and is immediately available for the public to hire. You can do this by contacting Cinderford Town Council.
I am very pleased to see progress being made, in all aspects of the project, and look forward to further developments in the coming months.
