This week is English Tourism Week, a celebration of some of the fantastic attractions and hospitality venues we have across England.
Here in the Forest of Dean, we have some fantastic tourism offers. Today, I spent time with Lorraine Robinson, owner of The Roost in Mitcheldean.
The Roost consists of two, adults only, cedar wood cabins set in 2.5 acres of meadow. The cabins are built from locally sourced & reclaimed materials and are rated as one of the top 15 Great Cabin Getaways in the UK by The Sunday Telegraph.
The cabins enjoy their own seclusion & privacy and can be rented individually whilst also being close enough to be able to walk from one to the other so are perfect for two couples wanting to holiday together.
Lorraine and The Roost have been recognised for their fantastic tourism offer. Recently, they have won the 2021/22 Regional Best Rural Tourism Business and the 2021/22 National Best Rural Tourism Business awarded by the Rural Business Awards South West.
This fantastic achievement is not only a credit to Lorraine, but also is a great achievement for the Forest of Dean and further puts it on the tourism map.
The Forest of Dean is a fantastic place to visit and is the perfect getaway location for anyone looking for the very best that England has to offer.
