I am delighted to hear that the Dean Heritage Centre has been awarded £133,886 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to help build a new literary collection based on writers from the Forest of Dean.
The Centre, in collaboration with the University of Gloucestershire, will be using this funding to research and catalogue more than 400 unique items that make up the collection, featuring poems, novels, play scripts, notebooks, drawings and photographs that reflect the landscape, people and places of the Forest of Dean.
I am pictured below with Mark George, Centre Manager and Iain Baird, Chair of the Trustees Board during my visit to the Dean Heritage Centre in March.
