It was a pleasure to visit the Cinderford Job Centre and meet with the dedicated team of work coaches.
The Government recently launched the new Way to Work campaign to help 500,000 jobseekers into work by the end of June 2022.
In order to help achieve this goal, work coaches at Cinderford are offering a face-to-face service tailored to job seekers’ individual needs and preferences.
The team at the job centre are going above and beyond to help prepare candidates for interviews and match them with vacancies in the Forest of Dean most suited to their skillset.
Mentoring circles are also being offered to support those aged 16-24 build on their employability skills and navigate the job market through facilitating interactions with employers.
The job centre is keen to collaborate with employers in the Forest of Dean. They can offer advice on how best to fill your vacancies, promote the roles you are looking to fill using their partnership networks and social media platforms and assist in conducting interviews and group sessions with their diverse pool of candidates.
Additionally, the job centre has been collaborating with Prospect Training and Bespoke Mentoring Services to help those facing challenging circumstances, support their path to employment and look after their mental wellbeing.

Given the current challenges the world is facing with the war in Ukraine, the jobcentre is rising to the challenge. The team have been working closely with Gloucestershire County Council to assist Ukrainian refugees arriving in the Forest of Dean to find employment, taking into account the multitude of skills they have to offer.
Finally, the Disability Confident scheme run by the centre aims to recognise and support businesses that recruit and retain people with disabilities. The scheme helps employers make the most of the opportunities employing disabled people provides. If this is something that, as an employer, you would be interested in, the job centre would be happy to discuss this with you.
