Earlier this week, I spoke in a debate in the House of Commons on the importance of our local BBC.
The BBC is regularly on the receiving end of criticism, quite a lot of it fair, given their high cost national output beamed from their shiny London HQ giving the impression to some the organisation only really cares about London.
A clear exception to this, however, is our local BBC in the South West. Be it BBC Points West transmitted from Bristol or BBC Gloucestershire transmitted from Gloucester, both provide valuable local coverage as well as considerable value for money especially when compared to national BBC output.
