On Friday, I visited our local Covid-19 testing site in Gloucester.
It was impressive to see the professionalism of the operation overseen by the Royal Welsh in partnership with Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, Gloucestershire Constabulary, the County Council and the NHS.
I enjoyed talking to some of the soldiers, some of whom had only recently returned from deployment in Ukraine, about the deservedly warm reception they have received from people across Gloucestershire.
While there is still more work to do, our testing infrastructure has improved no end since the beginning of this pandemic, and that is in no small part thanks to our brilliant NHS, armed forces, emergency and other public services as well as good partnership working with the private sector.
An overview of the NHS test and trace service, including what happens if you test positive for Covid-19 or have had close contact with someone who has tested positive can be found at this link: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-test-and-trace-how-it-works
