This morning I paid a visit to the recently redeveloped Gloucestershire Constabulary Operations Centre at Bamfurlong, near Cheltenham.
Along with other Gloucestershire MPs, I listened to the current demands placed on the constabulary, received an update on recent positive successes within the force and toured the new facility.
Gloucestershire Constabulary have been based at this site since the 1970s and the £12.8 million of funding for redevelopment was much needed. The development includes a new two-storey building and separate buildings for specialist operations such as the Dog Handlers and Mounted Police. The project was delivered on time and within budget.
I am pictured here with Gloucestershire Police and Crime Comissioner Chris Nelson, Chief Constable Rod Hansen, Richard Graham, MP for Gloucester and other members from the Gloucestershire Constabulary leadership team. Also pictured with Police Horse Highnam!
This redevelopment will provide Gloucestershire Constabulary with the facilities needed to continue to run their specialist operations for many years to come.
