This week, I asked the Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt MP, to put on record the findings of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) report into how NHS hospitals investigate the deaths of people in their care, with specific attention to the very poor record of investigating the deaths of those with learning disabilities. Below is a video clip of me raising this important issue, along with the Secretary of State's response.
In my role as Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Learning Disability, these findings are of very great concern. I thank the Secretary of State for acknowledging the issues raised by the report, and I will support the Government in acting on the CQC's finding.
