Another busy Platinum Jubilee day today. It started with a visit to Littledean Community Centre’s Summer Fayre.
It was lovely to see a decent turnout of residents attending the fayre, with the weather staying dry after a damp start. I would like to offer my thanks to the organisers and volunteers who made the fayre possible.
The fayre had a wide range of stalls from many local producers and companies, including the delicious Chase Farm ice cream. Lots of activities for children and families from face painting to name the bear and splat the rat.
After a cup of coffee & a cake or two it was off to the Ruardean Carnival. Again, a great turnout from local residents to support the hard work of those who put the event together.
Good to meet local author Charlotte L Taylor, Toadstool Tales, have a go at a number of raffles & tombolas for good causes, and get soundly beaten at laser clay pigeon shooting!
The fayre & carnival were a perfect follow on from the days of celebrations we have had across the Forest of Dean marking The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
