A productive meeting last Friday with Gloucestershire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Chris Nelson, his Deputy Cllr Nick Evans, and senior leaders from the constabulary. Our meeting was held at the Police Hub on Belle Vue Road, Cinderford.
We had a useful discussion, and covered topics from workload and trends in policing to crimes against women and girls and dealing with increased levels of mental health related issues.
I am thankful that here in the Forest of Dean we do not see the levels of crime that are present in some other parts of the UK.
However, crimes still do occur, particularly fraud and scams targeting more vulnerable members of the community. That is why it is important that members of the public are kept up to date. The best way to do this is via Community Alerts. Community Alerts is the messaging system for Gloucestershire that enables residents, businesses and community groups to participate in a two-way exchange of information about what is happening throughout the county and get up-to-date messaging from public agencies, such as the police. It is free and you can choose exactly the type of alerts you wish to receive. I have copied the weblink to Community Alerts below.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the police officers and PCSOs that work across the Forest of Dean to keep my constituents safe.
