Every year I write to schools in the constituency and invite them to enter my annual Christmas Card competition and once again the standard of entries was extremely high! The winning design that I picked was from Varshika Sasikumar of Forest View Primary School and I have attached it to this post for you to see.
It has been a busy month to end the year and in the constituency I visited Westbury Court Nursing Home and met with staff, residents and people attending the Day Centre. I was also pleased to take my staff to the Severn and Wye Smokery at Chaxhill and fully recommend their outstanding restaurant.
In Westminster, I spoke on the floor of the House and explained why I was not able to support the Cabinet’s proposals, in their current form, in the EU Withdrawal Agreement. This was a difficult decision and one I regretted having to make. I have written to numerous constituents about this, in December in particular, and I will continue to keep you up to date in the New Year.
This post concludes my review of a busy 2018 here in the Forest of Dean! I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of my constituents all the very best for 2019.
