Today I attended the Levelling Up Fund - Quarterly Programme Board meeting at The Growth Hub in Mitcheldean.
I joined representatives from the Forest of Dean District Council, Cinderford Town Council and Local Councillors to discuss how the individual projects are progressing.
Hartpury’s EV Park is nearly complete, with 353 spaces being added to the campus, 35 of those with electric charging points. Work is due to begin on the Hartpury University Innovation, Careers and Enterprise Learning Centre in the next few weeks, with the breaking of ground taking place in the middle of September.
Cinderford Town Council are making good progress with their three individual projects. Solar panels have now been installed at Rheola House and contractors have been appointed for the improvements due to be made to The Wesley.
Destination Five Acres continues to move at pace, with works now being undertaken at Speedwell House. Plans for the site can be seen below.
The £20 million of government funding continues to be spent in the Forest of Dean, improving leisure and sporting facilities, providing educational opportunities and repurposing vacant buildings.
