Enjoyed visiting The Fountain Inn, Parkend last night, another great Forest of Dean establishment participating in the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out initiative.
It was great to see one of the owners Michelle and encouraging to hear how the Government’s unprecedented package of financial support, including Eat Out to Help Out, has made a real difference to their business during difficult times.
I also met with Severn Cider’s Bull family, Nick, May & Tom, based at Awre near Newnham (www.severncider.com), and Mark Hopper from the National Association of Cider Makers to discuss the real knock-on benefits these measures are having for the food and drink sector thanks to increased footfall.
I can thoroughly recommend the Fountain as well as a pint of Severn Cider’s draft – it’s important we continue to support our brilliant local businesses and producers.
