I am very pleased to share some positive news to start 2019. The team at Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) has received just under £11,000 of Government funding that is being awarded to dozens of charities working to keep inland waterways around the country safe.
As we approach Christmas, I would like to take a moment to reflect on 2018. Many constituents write to me about the local issues that are important to them, which I deal with supported by my team in Cinderford.
This week is UK Parliament Week, a nationwide event that encourages people from across the country, especially younger people, to be able to access Parliament and learn about the role of democracy and why it is so important.
Every year Armistice Day provides a reminder for us all of the deep debt of gratitude we owe to those serving in our armed forces. On Remembrance Sunday I will join people in Cinderford to take part in a service to mark this solemn occasion.
I was incredibly pleased with last week’s announcement that we now have a brand new University in the constituency. The Government have awarded Hartpury University the new title after the Privy Council’s decision to approve their application.
