This week is UK Parliament Week, a nationwide event that encourages people from across the country, especially younger people, to be able to access Parliament and learn about the role of democracy and why it is so important.
Every year Armistice Day provides a reminder for us all of the deep debt of gratitude we owe to those serving in our armed forces. On Remembrance Sunday I will join people in Cinderford to take part in a service to mark this solemn occasion.
Since 2010, our economy has made considerable progress, with nearly 8 years of consistent economic growth, real wages continuing to rise faster than prices, youth unemployment halved and the overall unemployment rate at its lowest since 1975.
I was incredibly pleased with last week’s announcement that we now have a brand new University in the constituency. The Government have awarded Hartpury University the new title after the Privy Council’s decision to approve their application.
