Last Friday, I had a virtual meeting with the Headteacher and Chairman of Governors at Offa’s Mead Primary Academy as well as the Chief Executive of the school’s Academy Trust.
It was a useful meeting where I learned about how the school had kept educating the children of key workers and vulnerable children during the peak of the virus and the steps they have taken to build confidence in order to get selected year groups back into the classroom over the past few weeks.
It was encouraging to hear the measures they are taking to engage with parents and staff in the run up to the summer holidays and to put them in a position to reopen with confidence in September.
I am pleased to see that Offa’s Mead Primary Academy is setting a great example in how to get children back into the classroom in a way that reassures pupils, staff and parents alike.
